This photo is part of “My Vermont,” series. It was winter and I was photographing in a field of dried up and dead sunflowers off the side of the road on route 7 in New Haven, VT. This old guy gets out of his beat up pick up truck and walks over to me. He asks me if I want to take his picture with the sunflowers since they were old and dried up and so was he. Then we talked and he told me his claim to fame… he was the last person in the state of Vermont to legally shoot a rattlesnake back in the 70’s cause now its illegal.
