What exactly is a fine art print?

A fine art print is a high quality reproduction of an original work of art.  These pieces of art can range from oil paintings, charcoal drawings to photographs, and more.  Each particular piece of art is reproduced in a limited number of archival prints that come in various edition sizes.  One piece of art may have 100 limited prints made of it while other original artworks may have only 25.  This element of chance adds intrigue and sense of playful to collecting a limited piece of art, each of which comes with a Certificate of Authenticity with information regarding the particular artwork and the artist.

What is an "Edition"?

Edition size, or Edition number, refers to the amount of prints available per piece of art and its respective size.  Once that particular Edition size runs out, there will be no more available. None will be reprinted even if they are lost, damaged or flawed.  This helps keep the art limited and exclusive, with respect to the original piece.

What are Collections?

How do I know these are authentic?

Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and information regarding the art, as well as the artist who created the piece.

Do the prints come with borders?

Each print has a ½-1 inch minimum border, to allow for framing.

I think I see a flaw in my print, what do I do?

We work closely with premiere printers in the industry to create the best exhibition quality prints on the market.  Each print goes through a thorough quality control check before shipment. As we reproduce large quantities of prints, there may be times where a flaw will slip out on rare occasion. Reviewing your art as soon as it arrives ensures the condition of the print and whether you'll need to return it. You have 14 days from receipt to return.

If you spot an error or defect, please email a snapshot of any discrepancy to support@artcapitol.com. Once we receive the email, we do require that you destroy the original flawed print (by ripping it up) and send another picture via email confirming its termination.  As soon as we receive that, we will send out your replacement at once, should the edition still be open.  In the event the edition has sold out, or should you simply want a refund regardless, you will be refunded.

How long will these prints last?

We print on museum quality archival paper with the highest quality pigment inks to insure your art remains as vibrant and crisp as the original work it is based off of.  With proper care and attention, your art will last a lifetime.

How do I maintain the print?

Keeping your prints out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures ensures the longevity of your art.

Can I pick up my print in person?

Since we do not have a brick & mortar store, where customers can come pick up their art, all prints are shipped out of Los Angeles, California.

How does combined shipping work?

Depending on the print and the size, some orders may be able to be placed within the same shipping package.

Do I need to create an account to place an order?

Creating an account on the site enables you to check the status of your orders, look up past orders, and add pieces of art to your wish list. But if you prefer to simply place your order without registering, you can easily do so as well.

How can I check the status of my order?

To check the status of an order or look up past transactions, simply log into the site and click on the Account tab to manage your order(s).

What is the warranty on my art? Is it guaranteed?

All our prints are printed on high quality archival paper with the highest quality inks around to insure your prints remain as vibrant and crisp as ever. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and our guarantee that you will be completely satisfied with your purchased art. With proper care and attention, your art will last a lifetime.

How can I pay?

We take all major credit cards as well as PayPal transactions.

What is a CCV code?

The CCV code is a particular 3-4 digit number listed on either the back or front of the credit card usually next to the signature bar or above the account number on the front.

Why was my credit card declined?

There are many reasons why your credit card could have been declined.  At times, the credit card company may place a hold or decline any purchases altogether depending on what their policies may be and if there are any restrictions on the amount of the purchase. Please contact your credit card company for further details regarding any declines.

I believe my credit card might have been used for fraudulent purposes.

Should you find yourself a victim of fraud or identity theft, please contact your credit card company immediately and explain the situation. As a courtesy, please also inform us of any pertinent issues so that we may remedy it from our end as well.

I seem to be having trouble paying with PayPal.

How can I cancel an order?

The fastest way to cancel an order would be to call us during our business hours between 10am - 5pm PST. If we are unavailable, please send us an email or you can simply log into your account, visit your orders page and cancel from there. Please keep in mind that orders are processed and shipped within 48 hours and cannot be cancelled once they have been sent off for delivery.

I created an account but forgot my password.

If you have forgotten your password or username, simply click on either the "Forgot Username" or "Forgot Password" links on our website and follow the prompts.  If you are locked out or are still having trouble, please contact us at service@artcapitol.com, to help you regain access to your account.

Can I use a Promotional Code or Gift Card?

Absolutely! If you have a promotional code or Gift Card, please enter your codes when checking out to ensure you apply any gifts or discounts.

How come I can't use my Promotional Code on some prints?

We do our best to provide affordable limited edition art to the masses. As such, there are some prints that are already at their lowest cost and we feel they are a huge bargain to the customer. So in these cases, some promotional codes may not apply. Gift cards will, of course, still be allowed.

I think I created a wrong account.

Does the art look exactly as it does online?

While each monitor varies from one another, we showcase our art on our site as exactly as the original looks. If you believe the color is off, and are concerned, check our site out on multiple monitors to get a better approximation of what you would be receiving.

Can I buy in bulk and resell?

We do not sell in bulk or to resellers. There is a limit sold per person, so that everyone has a chance at owning a limited edition print of art from ArtCapitol.
